Mikel Landa wins in Pais Vasco

Mikel Landa has recognized that acknowledging the steep uphill end on the Stage Two of Vuelta al País Vasco quite well was an authoritative advantage for him as Sky rider took his very first win of the year 2016 for his all new team on home soil.
On Tuesday, the breakaway to victory of the Basque rider was, like past year when he won a stage in the Pais Vasco at Aia, his 1st victory following an uneven beginning to the season, along with his 1st race delayed by over one month.
Landa pondered, too, that hopefully this is the beginning of a successful campaign at Giro d’Italia, in which he ended 3rd previous year and this would be his huge target this year. Murgia, Landa’s home town, is only a few kms away from the stage end in Baranbio as well as his extra motive to become victorious on local soil was, said he. It is a significant factor in his conclusion to go absolved of Wilco Kelderman.
Just after crossing the line, Landa told tat on an occasion like this when it came to winning, what he wanted in his head was as important as his legs. There were other things that served, too, the cold and rain in the 1st part of the stage really made a difference and was really good for him, as did knowing the finish so well. But he really could not believe that hehas managed to win, this is still sinking in.
